And if You Are Still in London - The Tsar's Bride

"The Tsar's Bride" by Russian Composer
Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov

Now playing at the Royal Opera House in London until 2nd May, with talented young Russian soprano Marina Poplavskaya who won the Maria Callas Grand Prix in Athens back in 2005.

Marina Poplavskaya now has a loyal fan base who refer to her as "Pops" and she is playing the part of Ivan the Terrible's third wife in this opera.  As an eager understudy in some operas, she is always ready for that lead soprano role for those moments when a diva is throwing a tantrum, though Pops appears to not be immune to the odd one herself!

The soprano to watch, Maria Poplavskaya

A journalist for the Guardian newspaper wrote about this rising star in his Sunday column.
